SKU: M503032
Musso Pola chill switch. Wiring for Pola Ice Cream Machines Looking from the rear of the unit at the terminal strip, there are 12 ports that are tied together in line, creating a total of six (6) usable wiring ports that terminate at the switches. Starting from left to right, the wires going to the switches are: • #1 Black to Top of Chill Switch • #2 Black to Other Top of Chill Switch (Load and Neutral Compressor Wires Plus Cooling Fan) • #3 White to One of the Center Terminals of Timer • #4 Black to Other Center Terminal of Timer (Load and Neutral Wires from Outlet) • #5 White to Top of Churn Switch • #6 White to Other Top of Churn Switch (Load and Neutral Wires for Churn Motor) Looking Now from the Front of the Unit at the Switches: • Left side of timer has 2 black wires, and each wire goes to the bottom left side of the churn and chill switches respectively (load/neutral to switches depending upon building wiring). • Right side of timer has 2 white wires, and each wire goes to the bottom right side of the churn and chill switches respectively (load/neutral to switches depending upon building wiring). • Green wire with yellow stripe is ground wire and should be secured to base of machine. • Remaining red and yellow wires from churn motor should have spade receptacles and connect to start/run capacitor. Try to keep wiring colors uniform, meaning the left side of the timer and bottom side of the churn and chill switches are all black, and the right side of the timer and bottom side of the churn and chill switches are white. This can’t be obtained when connecting top wires to churn and chill switches.

Musso Pola Gearbox Assembly
$130.00
SKU: M503024
Musso Pola Gearbox assembly comes complete with the upper and lower gearbox, upper and lower bushings, and the gear and shaft. Used on the model Pola 5030, or some call it Stella or L2 or L2a. Musso Pola 5030/L2/L2a/Stella Gearbox Removal Instructions: 1.Remove the 8 screws securing rear panel. Remove panel. 2. Looking from the rear, locate the two 4mm set bolts securing the gearbox to the shaft guide. These don’t have to be removed, just loosened. 3. Prop up the machine to remove the motor mount bolt (also from the bottom-up with a 13mm box wrench or 6mm hex head cap bolt). Gently lift up the stainless top and rotate to work the motor and shaft down and away from the machine. A rubber mallet may have to be used to aid in the removal. Find something to support the one corner of the top after removal and while working on the gearbox assembly. Remove the 6 screws securing the top half of the case to the lower half of the case. Lift the shaft and attached gear wheel out of the case. Replace with the new gear and shaft. 4. Use light grease when reassembling. With the lower gearbox secured to the motor, “fill the cup around the motor shaft” with grease. This will do nothing but possibly aid in deterring some liquid from running down into the motor in case of an overfill. Dab a little grease on all nylon bearing surfaces and on gear face. Reassemble.Reinstall motor and gearbox assembly into the machine, making sure shaft guide is seated fully into gearbox collar. 5. Now with the base propped up again, start motor mount bolt and finger tighten only. You will notice that when you turn the motor, it changes the “angle” of the top. What you want to do is to align the condenser to the rear of the top edge. When you think the alignment is correct, tighten down the two 4mm set bolts. 6. The bolts’ position should be in the same spot as the original (this can be seen by the original factory wear marks made by the Allen wrench in the Styrofoam). 7. With the churn and chill switches OFF, plug unit into an outlet, rotate timer, and check to see if the churn motor operates. You can test the chill switch BUT, because of the lack of support from the wrap-around, cooling fan operation may be impeded by the Styrofoam insulation, so compressor may operate only. The normal operating procedure is cooling fan operates at the same time.Unplug machine and secure churn blade to shaft. 8. Spin blade by hand, making certain the blade does not scrape bowl. If good, continue. If scrapping occurs, realign motor to bowl. Install rear panel and tighten screws. 9. Re-test blade by hand. If good, test switches. Churn blade should turn without scrapping and with the compressor operating the cooling fan.Tighten motor mount bolt.

SKU: M503015
This is the motor for the Musso Pola 5030, L2, L2A, P180, or some call it Stella model. Musso Pola 5030/L2/L2a/Stella Gearbox Removal Instructions: • Remove the 8 screws securing rear panel. Remove panel. • Remove the 4 screws securing stainless top to wrap-around. • Remove the 6 screws (3 on each side) securing the wrap-around to the base (these screws go from the bottom-up). • Pull wrap-around away from the machine just enough to remove only the wires needed to completely disconnect the wrap-around from the unit. This is a good time to mark wire positions. Remove the wrap-around. • Looking from the rear, locate the two 4mm set bolts securing the gearbox to the shaft guide. These don’t have to be removed, just loosened. • Remove the yellow and black wires from the terminal strip as well as the ground wire (green with yellow stripe, 7mm nut). • Prop up the machine to remove the motor mount bolt (also from the bottom-up with a 13mm box wrench or 6mm hex head cap bolt). • Gently lift up the stainless top and rotate to work the motor and shaft down and away from the machine. A rubber mallet may have to be used to aid in the removal. Find something to support the one corner of the top after removal and while working on the gearbox assembly. • Use light grease when reassembling. The bolts’ position should be in the same spot as original (this can be seen by the original factory wear marks made by the Allen wrench in the Styrofoam). • Secure black and yellow wire to terminal strip as well as the ground wire and the yellow and red capacitor wires. • Set the wrap-around close enough to the unit to attach the wires to the switches. • With the churn and chill switches OFF, plug unit into an outlet, rotate timer, and check to see if the churn motor operates. You can now test the chill switch BUT, because of the lack of support from the wrap-around, cooling fan operation may be impeded by the Styrofoam insulation, so compressor may operate only. Normal operating procedure is cooling fan operates at the same time. • Unplug machine and secure churn blade to shaft. Spin blade by hand, making certain blade does not scrape bowl. If good, continue. If scrapping occurs, realign motor to bowl. • Install wrap-around with the 6 screws. DO NOT TIGHTEN AT THIS TIME. • Secure the 4 screws for the stainless top to wrap-around. • Install rear panel and tighten screws. • At this time, tighten the 6 wrap-around screws. • Re-test blade by hand. If good, test switches. Churn blade should turn without scrapping and with the compressor operating the cooling fan. • Tighten motor mount bolt.
